Department Procurement Europe is part of the Global Procurement Organization that is reporting into the Global Corporate Shared Services organization. As a part of the European Procurement organization the Bergen op Zoom team serves the local customers by providing contracting, purchasing and warehousing services. The goal of the Bergen op Zoom procurement team is to lead and to execute local procurement activities for all business units by: Securing surety of supply for all materials, parts and services in a safe way in line with customer specification. Developing and implementing procurement strategies for the Bergen op Zoom site in order to maximize value for SABIC. Adding value to the Business by leveraging our local buy and supporting the leveraging of the regional and global buy. The Challenge The purpose of the job is to lead local Sourcing & Contracting for Bergen op Zoom by developing and implementing a procurement strategy plan for Technical Goods & Services, resulting in lowest total cost of ownership and improved customer satisfaction. More in detail your responsibilities are: Active engagement to understand stakeholder vision and objectives and derive strategic directives for procurement. Identify business requirements and develop category strategy in-line with internal customer objectives. Perform spend analyses, analyze internal demand and research supply market. Document en verify product specifications and requirements with internal customer. Establish, manage and optimize relationships with (new) suppliers in order to sustain continuity of supply within the assigned category and optimize the supplier portfolio on a continuous basis. Analyze existing contracts, follow-up of contract implementation by purchasers, evaluate and enhance supplier performance. Manage daily activities and mentor a small team of purchasers. Participate in the Site Procurement team and serve as stand-in for the Sourcing Manager. Participate in European and cross functional teams to create value on both local and European levels. Ensure regional and local compliance, global standards, requirements, policies and procedures including Environment, Health & Safety. Securing surety of supply for the technical goods and services. Your Profile Master degree in Technical discipline, ideally complemented with a commercial training / education. At least 7 years procurement experience in an industrial environment and ready to assume a senior role in the team, providing leadership to a team of purchasers. Familiar with category plan development and demonstrated negotiating and commercial skills. Established network of the (local) suppliers market. Experience in working with an internal customer base in a service oriented environment. Fluent in Dutch and English, both verbal and written. As a person you have / are: Good influencing, analytical, conceptual and excellent strategic planning skills. Systematic, independent, goal-oriented and responsible working style. The Challenge Support the Global Category manager by developing and implementing a global procurement strategy, plan and budget for all travel and living related buy. In this specific role you will face the following circumstances and challenges: Execute the category procurement strategy and drive continuous improvement within the region and within boundaries set by the global category manager. Maintain a close network with industry leaders in the supply market within the area of travel and living. Challenge existing concepts introducing creative new professional procurement solutions.
