Department The Analytical Technology & Materials Characterization Department in Bergen op Zoom is part of the Sabic Technology and Innovation Organisation. The AT&MC team (~39 fte) provides a broad range of laboratory services to product development programs. Laboratory capabilities include labscale extrusion, part molding, physical testing and chemical characterization. The Chemical Characterization Laboratory is well-equipped with an extensive array of modern analytical techniques in the area of advanced chromatography, spectroscopy and elemental analysis. To strengthen our chemical analysis team, we are currently looking for an enthusiastic analytical professional with broad knowledge and experience in instrumental analysis. The Challenge Your responsibilities: Coordinate and lead all analytical support for 1-2 product groups. Apply a broad range of instrumental analysis techniques to characterize polymeric materials. Interpret and report results. Provide chemical characterization and problem solving expertise to support product development programs, customer and manufacturing issue resolution. Develop and improve analytical methods for polymer characterization and evaluate new test equipment. Participate in cross-functional and global safety, quality improvement and knowledge exchange programs. We are looking for BSc in analytical chemistry, polymer sciences or a closely related field Thorough theoretical knowledge of chromatography, spectroscopy and elemental analysis techniques and broad practical experience in applying these techniques. Broad knowledge of physical and chemical characterization techniques for plastics. Preferably a good understanding of polymer properties and structure-property relationships. Excellent verbal and written Dutch and English communication skills Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Flexibility, creativity and independence. Ability to work in cross-functional and global teams. Ability to efficiently organize, prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Electromechanical Technician

CERN is currently looking for an Electromechanical Technician If you are an experienced technician in the electricity and mechanical field, and have a strong customer orientation, with an appreciation of building relationships with both external and internal collaborators, join CERN and take up the challenge of managing the equipment stores. Take part! Functions As a product manager you will take part in the standardization of electrical and mechanical equipment, and specifically: * Contact and collaborate with CERN scientific users, with a view to monitoring and meeting their needs for frequently-used items. * Investigate and examine new items to be standardized, as well as rationalize and update existing articles. * Contribute to drawing-up detailed specifications for electrical and/or mechanical equipment. * Participate in the analysis of the technical content of tenders and in the decisions on the choice of products. * In collaboration with the suppliers, define the replenishment methodology. * Use state-of-the-art tools for stock forecasting and optimization, and participate in improving computer-based tools. Qualification required Technical Certificate, preferably with a specialization in electro-mechanical field. Experience and competencies * At least 10 years' relevant professional experience in mechanics and electricity. * Experience of working with electrical and mechanical products, and market trends in order to assess and understand user requirements, and provide technical expertise to best meet their needs. * Demonstrated experience in stores management, including stocks and product standardization. * Experience of contributing to technical specifications would be an advantage. * Practical knowledge of the latest computing tools is essential, in particular of stock management programmes. Laboratory Team Lead
Beschrijving: The Team Lead is responsible for the Quality and Certification of the Analytical results, for the critical evaluation and validation of the results and the data in the LIMS system. The data results from daily operations in Production and R&D, but also includes environmental analyses. He/she directs a group of 20 technicians, and is responsible for the Analytical equipment in the QC lab and the Plant Lab, including maintenance and calibration. He/she is also responsible for constant improvement of the Quality and Efficiency of the QC lab, and innovation in the techniques used. The Team Lead directs a group of approximately 20 analytical technicians, who perform more or less routine chemical and physical analyses for our production and research facilities. The QC lab works in a 7-day per week day shift operation.

Beschrijving: Department Our manufacturing organisation in Bergen op Zoom is one of the facilities on the production of advanced engineering thermoplastics. Within the production department of Chemical Operations we have opportunities for several internships. Depending on your experiences and interests, you will be assigned to any of the units within BPA/PPO, Chlorine/Utilities/Resin/Phosgene or the QA-organisation. The Challenge The major learning objective is to use theoretical knowledge in practice, and work closely with the chemical operations team to come-up with improvements and opportunities. The assignment will not only teach you how to bring knowledge into practice, but also teach you how to interact with several departments and people with different backgrounds. Deliverables will be according our needs and your ambitions. Your profile We are looking for a Bachelor or Master student (eg. Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or logistics), not necessarily a graduation student. You have high energy, show initiatives and have strong interpersonal skills.
