The Challenge Purpose of the job The Leader of the Technical department leads the site’s technical efforts (process and project engineering, and process automation) and provides technical guidance to the Site Manager and responds as necessary to meet critical business needs. He/she provides strategic vision and leadership of significant projects and programs that deliver proactive solutions to improve EHS&S, Stability, Quality, Service and Cost performance. The job-holder is also responsible for the development of the Unit Technology Plans and Site Infrastructure Technology Plans in alignment with the overall Business Technology Plan. He/she is key stakeholder in setting the strategic direction for the site’s T&I efforts and contributes to technical training and career path development. Responsibilities Provides strategic direction and leadership for the Site Process and Project Engineering Team, and Process Automation Engineering Team. Provides leadership in OE efforts. Owns Technology Application Management (TAM) and Small Project (SP) rollout for the site. Works with site leaders to develop the Unit Technology Plans and Site Infrastructure Technology Plans and manages teams to execute the plans. Owns Total Cost Out (TCO) initiative for the site and manages transition into OE methodology. Owns the Site Manufacturing Technical Career Path (MTCP) and organize site Principal Engineers in maintaining and advancing MTCP efforts. Overall responsibility for the capex budget for the site. Assists Site and Global Training Leaders in identifying, acquiring and/or developing and delivering important technical training. Ensures best practices are shared across the company. Provides input into the development of the Business Technology Plan. Interfaces with the Process COE on gap analysis to identify future technology opportunities. Assesses value of opportunities from other work processes. Ensures solid technical support for EHS&S goals. Department Procurement Europe is part of the Global Procurement Organization that is reporting into the Global Corporate Shared Services organization. As a part of the European Procurement organization the Bergen op Zoom team serves the local customers by providing contracting, purchasing and warehousing services. The goal of the Bergen op Zoom procurement team is to lead and to execute local procurement activities for all business units by: Securing surety of supply for all materials, parts and services in a safe way in line with customer specification. Developing and implementing procurement strategies for the Bergen op Zoom site in order to maximize value for SABIC. The Challenge The purpose of the job is to lead local Sourcing & Contracting for Bergen op Zoom by developing and implementing a procurement strategy plan for Technical Goods & Services, resulting in lowest total cost of ownership and improved customer satisfaction. More in detail your responsibilities are: Active engagement to understand stakeholder vision and objectives and derive strategic directives for procurement. Identify business requirements and develop category strategy in-line with internal customer objectives. Perform spend analyses, analyze internal demand and research supply market. Establish, manage and optimize relationships with (new) suppliers in order to sustain continuity of supply within the assigned category and optimize the supplier portfolio on a continuous basis. Your Profile Master degree in Technical discipline, ideally complemented with a commercial training / education. Familiar with category plan development and demonstrated negotiating and commercial skills. Established network of the (local) suppliers market. Experience in working with an internal customer base in a service oriented environment. Fluent in Dutch and English, both verbal and written.
