IT Roles: Business transformation engine Strategic partner Actively engaging the business Reliable IT services at the right cost The Challenge The assignment is to design and implement a detailed service catalogue starting from the target IT service structure. You will start by refining and validating the global services structure and developing the IT services structure at the most required granular level. You will then define the attributes (i.e. the service overview, service interaction process, service performance management and service charging) of each service and identify the service coverage (i.e. global, regional, country-specific, BU-specific). Next, you will finalize the service catalogue documentation and communicate the new IT catalogue model to all stakeholders and get their feedback. The project will last approximately 6 months, fulltime. You will be based in Sittard. Your Profile We are looking for a Master student in Business Economics or International Management, or a related field, preferably majoring in Finance. You have proven strong analytical, conceptual and communication skills. Furthermore you are pro-active, self managing, accurate and pleasant to work with. The company language is English. It is a fulltime internship for half a year, starting April 1st, 2011. | Internship Centrifugal Compressor Simulation Program Beschrijving: Department Plants Site Geleen The Site Geleen encompasses 7 plants, including 2 Naphtha crackers, a Logistics unit, a Polypropylene and 2 Polyethylene units. The Naphtha crackers produce 1,250,000 tonnes of ethylene and 675,000 tonnes of propylene which are mainly used as feedstock for the successive poly-olefins plants. Our polyethylene product range includes all of the commodity thermoplastic polymers, linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE), low density polyethylene (LDPE), and high density polyethylene (HDPE). The polypropylene product range includes homopolymer, block copolymer, random copolymer and speciality automotive grades. Structure Site Geleen On the site we have a clear split between Running Business (short term) and Site Improvements (long term). As well Running Business as Site Improvements are divided into Polymers and C&I. Site Services supports all these departments. The Running Business is responsible for a safe and maximum production. Site Improvements is responsible for the right suggestions to improve the production process, including process integrity and safety, and for the implementation of the suggestions. The purpose for Site Services is to service all departments in an efficient; transparent en customer friendly way. The Site Management Team consists of the Site Director; Directors of Running Business; Site Improvements and Site Services. For the department Site Improvement Polymers we are looking for an intern. The Challenge The Intern will be employed in the discipline team Rotating Equipment of the Competence Centre Manufacturing. The objectives for this group are : Secure a high level of rotating equipmnet expertise that are key for SABIC production plants. Instruction and training of plant staff and maintenance engineers. Introduction and implementation of legislation ( EC directives), best practices with respect to equipmnet integrity safety and envioronmental aspects. Support plant staff and maintenance engineers in plant optimization, projects and trouble shooting activities. Qualification ,evaluation and specifications of new equipment for expansion projects. Introduction and implementation of Engineering Practices , calculation tools and modelling programs Your assignment is to make an existing modelling program for centrifugal compressors fit for use for application on a charge gas compressor. The assignment requires the gathering and validation of proces data, filling of the calculation model and validation of the calculation results by comparing plant data. If there is an opportunity to improve the modelling program suggestions shall be elaborated. A second aspect of the assignment will be to investigate if the model can be used as trending model in order to compare actual field data with design data. The assigment will give you the opportunity to learn more about thermodynamics and operations of centrifugal compressor systems as well as the use of plant information systems within SABIC. | Graduation Internship Supply Chain Planning – Master Thesis Beschrijving: Department The Supply Chain Polymers department is responsible for planning, order handling, warehousing and distribution of around 3 Million ton of polymers in Europe. The Planning department takes care of long and short term planning, both in terms of demand, supply, inventory and transportation. The Challenge The main target of the research assignment is to develop a model which can be used for the optimal and safety stock calculations with the objective to create value across the supply chain. Within this challenge the following sub-questions have been defined: Improve the safety & optimal stock calculations ¬ How to deal with under- and over forecasting? ¬ What is the probability distribution to be used? Steer the decision making on inventory capacity planning ¬ How to link optimal silo/warehouse rent to the optimal stock calculations? ¬ How to decide on split fixed vs variable silo/warehouse rent? ¬ How to deal with stock rotations? Incorporate Service Level Differentiation to the optimal & safety stock calculations ¬ How to balance stocks with customer segments? ¬ Which grade mix and stock volumes should be used per segment?
