Internship T&i Chemistry And Catalysis
Beschrijving: The Challenge Investigation towards new catalysts for polyolefin preparation. In the research group “Advanced Catalysis” of the department Technology And Innovation of SABIC Europe in Geleen, we are continuously looking for enthousiastic HBO trainees with affinity for the challenging interplay of groundbreaking chemistry and its possible application in current or future processes of SABIC. The “Advanced Catalysis Group” monitors the new developments in the area of catalysts for the polyethylene and polypropylene preparation. Besides this, we are also exploring the fundamental processes that take place when using these catalysts. The organic-preparative trainee period will involve the synthesis and testing of new catalysts for the polyethylene and polypropylene preparation. These catalysts consist of a metal centre which can contain a diversity of ligands. The synthesis often involves the interesting combination of inorganic, organic and organometallic synthesis. The prepared catalysts have to be characterized using a multitude of analytical techniques, which in general is performed at the analytical departments of our analytical partners at DSM-Resolve. Testing of the catalysts is performed in collaboration with the SABIC technicians who actually run the high-pressure polymerisation equipment. Whenever possible, we use computational modeling for studying the relation between catalyst structure and its performance in the polymerisation of ethylene and propylene. Additionally, the polymers have to be characterized by GPC, IR and NMR, which again will be performed at the analytical labs of DSM-Resolve. Further Information As you can see, this is a challenging internship, which involves a training in a very broad area, covering (in)organic synthesis, computational modeling, catalyst kinetics and polymer chemistry. The period of the internship is at least 4 months, starting second part of 2011. For further information, please contact: Nic. Transporter Scientist Within The Ddi Section In The Department Of Drug Metabolism
Beschrijving: Your job: You will be responsible for implementing drug transporter studies within the DDI section and in particular setting up new assays/cell cultures in the laboratory. Furthermore, we expect you to be or become our drug transporter specialist. In addition to the transporter studies, you will be responsible for planning, executing and reporting of other in vitro DDI metabolism studies including enzyme reaction phenotyping, enzyme inhibition and enzyme induction. The data obtained will be used for simulation of PK and DDI using SimCYP. Thus you will also be involved in SimCYP simulations. Furthermore, you will also be involved in studies to elucidate the mechanism behind a given observation. The techniques primarily used are LC-MS-MS and radiochemical detection. Another part of your work will be close collaboration with Contract Research Organisations (CRO’s), who are performing studies on behalf of the DDI section. As a scientist you will also be involved in project teams, representing the department or the non-clinical Safety Research area. The primary responsibility of the project team member is to drive the project forward and carry out decisions made by the team.
