The time for engaging customers on sustainability is now, as they formulate plans to address: Increased raw materials and energy costs tied to supplies of finite resources Increased pressure from external stakeholders (investors, NGO’s, employees) Momentum to increase producer responsibility for end-of-life recycling Exposure to climate change financial and regulatory risks Rising middle class in the world’s most populous nations strains resources Population is expected to grow another 2 billion people (+28%) in next 40 years The Challenge The Marketing Director role for Sustainability will provide regional leadership for specialty and performance products, including customer engagement, growth plans, and thought leadership. Deliverables include: Define, baseline, set targets for, and grow an ideal portfolio for Sustainability Solutions within the BU. Accountable for BU contributions to the SABIC Sustainable Product Sales KPI. Engage at least X% of Top OEM’s on sustainability, including stakeholder assessment, needs mapping, and account plan development related to sustainability. (with field team) Develop NPI/Platform pipeline (MGPP) to ensure long term growth of the sustainability portfolio, addressing projected long term customer needs. (with PML’s) As the regional leader for sustainability, this person will also collaborate with the Sustainability Core Team and with their peers in S&P East, the other pole in S&PW, Automotive, and SF&S to promote a consistent corporate image, ensure efficient translation of growth ideas, global OEM coordination and appropriate response to regulatory differences. Finally, this role will work with the operating units and other specialty PMDs to identify partnerships, NGO collaborations, industry associations, conferences, and other external bodies such as universities and regulatory agencies to further expand the scope of Sabic Innovative Plastics involvement in sustainability.
