| Engineer Research And Development Beschrijving: Als Engineer Research and Development ben je voornamelijk verantwoordelijk voor het leveren van bijdragen aan voorstudies, haalbaarheidsonderzoeken, projectvoortgang en verbetering van werkmethoden en processen. Ook het zelfstandig ontwerpen van klantspecifieke processen en producten op het gebied van composieten behoren tot je werkzaamheden. In deze functie leg je verantwoording af en rapporteer je aan de Technical Manager. | Application Development Engineer Stamax Beschrijving: Department The Global Application Technology team for STAMAX within SABIC Innovative Plastics closely works with the commercial team to ensure succesful use of STAMAX in a variety of new customer applications. STAMAX is a long fibre reinforced PP material, mainly used for automotive semi-structural applications, and sales volume is rapidly growing. The expertise Center for STAMAX is located in Geleen, The Netherlands, and cooperates with the CAE team in Bangalore, India, and local application development engineers in China and the USA. The team is leading in long fibre reinforced material application development. Work areas included are: material characterization, conceptual structural design, predictive engineering, processing and testing. Currently a vacancy exists for an application development engineer to expand the team. The Challenge Together with the marketing team, translate the needs from SABIC customers globally into technical activities to support the application development. Generate conceptual structural designs, helping the customer to achieve much better, cheaper, lighter designs by defining and choosing the right concept. Perform mechanical and processing CAE analysis to enhance customer confidence that these designs will work. Have discussions with customers on material properties. Help the customer with solving issues during part production, processing and testing. Contribute to improving the modelling capability to stay leading in new application development. Your Profile Required Skills: Project leadership: being a self-starter in defining and carrying out a project from direct communications with the customer and work with a team for efficient execution. Structural design insight: be able to quickly see strength and weakness in designs, and at the same time be able to generate sound structural design concepts. Experience and capable in predictive engineering, preferably on both mechanical and processing (injection moulding) simulations. Good communication skills. Be able to teach the customer and discuss alternative solutions with him. Knowledge on injection moulding. Being able to set-up part characterization test methods or guide testing by others. Qualifications/Education: Masters degree in mechanical engineering or similar direction, including knowledge of structural design. Preferably experience in the automotive industry. | Process Technology Engineer Beschrijving: Department SABIC-Innovative Plastics in Bergen op Zoom, The Netherlands seeks a high energy, goal-focused individual who is proactive in problem solving and has the leadership and communication skills needed to help a diversified global business achieve its goals. The successful candidate will work in product/process development and interface with manufacturing, quality, and commercial teams to provide technical leadership in the design and commercialization of new products. The Challenge Responsibilities for the position include: Developing new processes and improving existing processes to develop new monomer and polymer molecules and resins to provide growth to the business by accessing new markets. Working in an interdisciplinary team to define new opportunities and to find cost effective material and process solutions for new engineering materials. Extending rigor to take new products from the laboratory to the manufacturing floor, ensuring consistent manufacturing performance of the products. Your Profile Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or related discipline 3+ years of experience in an industrial setting in process technology/engineering. Experience with Specialty Monomers/Polymers or extensive knowledge of unit operations in chemical industry Piloting and lab experience preferred. Excellent technical, written and verbal communication skills. Ability to handle diverse responsibilities. Willingness to be a team player.
